Ciampedie
The Ciampedie or ‘Campo di Dio’ (God’s Field) at an altitude of 2000 metres is a veritable panoramic balcony over the Fassa Valley and the Dolomites, also famous for the extraordinary Vajolet Towers. From the summit of Ciampedie you can see Sassolungo, Sella, Marmolada, Sasso Vernale, the Costabella ridge, Buffaure, Monzoni and Vallaccia, and in the distance the Latemar, Pale di San Martino and Lagorai groups.
To reach Ciampedie on foot from Vigo di Fassa, you can follow path no. 544. This path, which is about 9.44 km long with a positive difference in altitude of 738 m, starts from the centre of Vigo and, with a moderate ascent partly through the woods, leads to the Ciampedie hut. The route is estimated to take about 3 hours and 9 minutes.
The Ciampedie can also be reached by cable car with the Catinaggio-Rosengarten cable car, the access to which is located opposite the 180 stop coming from Bolzano.

From Ciampedie, paths lead to the huts at the foot of the Roda di Vael, the Gardeccia and from there on to the Vajolet or Antermoia.
