The Fassa ladin Museum
The new premises of the Fassa Ladin Museum opened in 2001. They house the ethnographic collections of the Ladin Cultural Institute, the result of decades of research. These are concerned with various aspects of Ladin civilization: prehistory, economic activities, the development of political institutions, religious and secular rituals, popular beliefs and traditions, historical dynamics and the deep changes induced by the development of mountaineering and tourism in the last century.
One of the most significant aspects of the exhibition is the Multimedia Support System. The visitor will have access to nineteen information points, controlled by a computer network and featuring interactive touch –screens. Through them visitors gain access to 90 short monothematic films on single objects or aspects of the exhibition, complete with original sound and texts in various languages.
The Museum is not confined to its central premises. In addition to the headquarters, the Museum includes some local sections created in the various villages of the valley through the recovery of structures of ethnographic and cultural interest.
